An award-winning quilter and talented artist, photographer, and floral designer, Barbara Graceffa is an interior decorator living in Quincy, MA. From an early age, Barbara dabbled in several arts and crafts, but it was not until college did she discover a passion for quilting. She made her first scrap quilt in 1980 as a Christmas gift for her future husband, Phil.
Since then, she has fashioned dozens of bed quilts and wall hangings for her own home and for family members, friends, and clients, including a teal and white Carpenter’s Wheel quilt which earned a Viewer’s Choice blue ribbon at the local Marshfield Fair. Barbara has also made several Boston Marathon themed quilts, commissioned by the Boston Athletic Association. (See her quilts on Instagram.)
Yet, her “superpower” is her ability to create art quilts using unusual fabrics, shapes, improvisational design, and embellishments, among other techniques.
She held her first one-woman show in 2018 featuring two dozen of her favorite quilts.
Barbara belongs to four local quilt guilds and offers quilt lectures and trunks shows in person and on Zoom.
With many satisfied clients since 2008, Barbara Graceffa owns and operates Secretary of the Interior in Quincy, MA offering decorating services at reasonable rates.
