A Great Eye for Style
As you look back to your formative years, were there clues to your future career? They were certainly present in mine!
I loved to sew pillows and window treatments for my bedroom. My dad even let me paint my bedroom a pretty tangerine color – don’t judge me, I was a teenager and it was the 70’s.
I also loved to read, especially non-fiction, and wanted to be a teacher.
Do you recall the expression, “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”? Well, it’s true. After a career in higher education marketing (just another creative outlet), today I am an interior decorator, teacher, and quilt artist.
Since 2008, I have been making clients happy with new furniture, paint selection, floor plans, custom sewing projects, downsizing and decluttering, professional organizing, home staging, and moving assistance.
I also write the decorating column for The Quincy Sun, teach interior decorating, offer workshops on decluttering and home staging, and, as an award-winning quilter, present lectures and trunk shows on many quilting topics.
I hope you enjoy my blog. If you have any suggestions for future posts, please email me at barbara@sec-interior.com
